Young Carlton forward Charlie Curnow will miss at least a month of football after scans confirmed a strained medial ligament.

The 19-year-old twisted his right knee during the third quarter in Saturday’s six point loss to Sydney at the SCG.

“This is certainly a disappointing outcome for Charlie, after he had previously overcome a bout of glandular fever earlier this year,” Head of Football Andrew McKay said.

“His injury will sideline him for four to six weeks so there is a small chance that he will return before the end of the season. But we will closely monitor his recovery before we make this decision."

Curnow has played six senior games this season, after making his debut for the Blues in Round 2 against Sydney.
