After finalising its inaugural AFLW squad this week, Carlton Football Club is pleased to announce MC Labour as a co-major partner for its women’s team.

MC Labour Services provides specialised labour hire to the construction industry, as well as traffic management solutions and security services.

CEO Steven Trigg welcomed MC Labour to Carlton as an inaugural co-major partner of the Club’s women’s team.

“It has been a fantastic fortnight for our women’s team, finalising our inaugural squad of 27 as well as welcoming two co-major partners in MC Labour and Hyundai to our women’s team,” Trigg said.

“The significant development of women’s football aligns with the progress MC Labour are striving to make to extend their employment opportunities in the construction industry for women.

“As a club, we have a genuine goal to become leaders in gender equality and MC Labour have recognised our strong work in this space. We thank MC Labour for their support of our club’s women’s program ahead of a maiden pre-season campaign.”

MC Labour Services Managing Director Marc Lunedei said the organisation was proud to partner with Carlton’s inaugural women’s team.

“We see this partnership with Carlton’s women’s team as a strong fit, as MC Labour continues its drive to create opportunities and support women in a predominantly male dominated construction industry, as well as through our engagement with the National Association of Women in Construction,” Lunedei said.

“This a very exciting time for all concerned with the AFL Women’s league and we look forward to seeing the Blues’ women’s team in action in early 2017."

MC Labour will appear on the back of the Blues’ AFLW guernsey, and will receive branding on the media backdrop and on all training and match-day apparel.

Last week, the Club also officially launched its partnership with Hyundai who extended their association as co-major partners of the club’s women’s side.

Carlton is among eight clubs to have a women’s team with Adelaide Collingwood, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Fremantle, Brisbane and Greater Western Sydney also competing in the inaugural season, which kicks off in February 2017.
