The Carlton Football Club began the first leg of its journey under senior coach Brendon Bolton in 2016.

After notching up seven wins for the season – three more than last year – the Blues ended up finishing 14th on the ladder.

With the team now on a break, we’re taking a look back at each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for Carlton’s No. 16, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow:

OVERVIEW

Dillon Viojo-Rainbow played in every match for the Northern Blues this season, proving his durability on the park.

The 20-year-old made a terrific start to the season, racking up 24 disposals, including seven marks, three clearances and booting a goal against Footscray in Round 1.

He averaged just over 14 possessions per game, including over six contested possessions, three marks and a tackle. 

‘Skittles’ was named in Northern’s best on three ocassions this year.

“It was good to launch the new Northern Blues. It was a really good hit-out, our second one for the year, and to go forward and launch the way we want to play is a real positive,” Viojo-Rainbow said.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

Viojo-Rainbow was a shining light in Northern’s disappointing Round 12 loss to Sandringham. He kicked his first batch of three goals and collected 23 disposals for the match.
