Carlton supporters have rallied behind the Club this season, with the Blues hitting 50,000 members in 2016.

This milestone has not been achieved since the club broke its all-time membership record in 2013.

Announced on Tuesday, the Club has eclipsed its 2015 membership tally of 47,305.

Off the back of the Club’s #BoundByBlue membership campaign launch last year, Carlton recorded 30,000 members before Christmas in 2015 for the first time in its history.

Carlton CEO Steven Trigg said he was delighted by the support of Blues fans across the country.

“This is a wonderful response from our supporters who have all been Bound By Blue this season,” Trigg said.

“A united Carlton is a strong Carlton and reaching this membership milestone is an affirmation that our fans are right behind us on this new journey.

“Bound By Blue is all about creating a sense of belonging and we continue to ensure all members and supporters are as engaged as possible with the Club. We must continue to expand our membership base if we are to grow as a football club.

“While we understand there is plenty of hard work ahead, this milestone is a fantastic step in the right direction for our club and we sincerely thank our members for their continued support.”

This membership milestone follows an important month for Carlton after being named one of eight inaugural clubs to gain a licence for the upcoming National Women’s League competition.

The final day to be counted as a 2016 member is July 31. Call 1300 CARLTON or visit membership.carltonfc.com.au
