OVERVIEW
At 31 years old there’s no stopping Kade Simpson. In his 13th season at the Blues he’s yet again been one of Carlton’s most consistent players.

The 200-gamer played in all but two games this year and finished seventh in the John Nicholls Medal.

With his fierce competitive streak it’s no wonder Simpson is ranked No. 1 at the Blues for bounces and third in the entire competition. His run and dash off the halfback line is a trademark of his game. He’s also ranked second at the Club in rebound 50s and third in average disposals.

The No. 6 was instrumental in the Blues' stirring victory over Port Adelaide at the MCG in Round 10. He got his fingertips to a very important ball in the dying stages of the game to save a certain set shot at goal.

In Round 19 against Collingwood the veteran had 31 disposals, four clearances and 9 contested possessions in a standout performance for the Blues.

HE SAID IT

"I had a big piece of it [the ball]; more than a finger, I nearly marked it! I was talking to a few of the boys after (and) I was like, 'I don't think I've ever seen one of those decisions overturned', but one of the field umpires from the centre of the ground said he called touched straight away.”

- Kade Simpson speaking to 3AW, after a controversial call in the dying stages of a game that saw the Blues record a nail-biting victory over Port Adelaide.

THEY SAID IT

- Carlton sent out this tweet as Simpson kicked a long set-shot goal against the Hawks in Round 23. The usually shaggy-haired ‘Simmo’ was nearly unrecognisable after shaving his head a few days prior.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

Kade Simpson took a courageous mark against Geelong in the opening 20 seconds of the Round 8 clash at Etihad Stadium. In true ‘Simmo’ style he backed into a pack with one arm outstretched and juggled the ball to the ground. It was such a great grab he was nominated for the AFL’s Mark of the Year.
