Carlton's injury woes could ease slightly this week, with several players in contention to return.

Young gun Troy Menzel is expected to be available to play after being a late withdrawal against Hawthorn when he hurt his adductor in the warm-up.

Andrew Carrazzo missed the game against the Hawks with a sprained toe and will be tested at training this week, while Andrew Walker (knee) and Nick Graham (foot) are back running and will be a chance to play.

David Ellard is also a chance to return from his calf injury but would likely make his way back through the Northern Blues.

Meanwhile Head of Football Andrew McKay says Irishman Ciaran Sheehan is unlikely to play again this season.

"Ciaran Sheehan's had a couple of hip operations  … the progression has been slightly slower than we would have liked with a couple of hiccups, but certainly nothing major," McKay said.

"The good thing about having those operations during the season is that he will be right to go ready for pre-season 2016."
