Carlton supporters were welcomed back to Princes Park on Thursday night for the Club’s 150th Annual General Meeting.

President Mark LoGiudice began the meeting by acknowledging the contribution of departed Board members Stephen Kernahan, and Ryan Trainor, along with CFO Jason Reddick, who is departing Carlton to take over as the CEO of the Williamstown Football Club.

“Jason has been a long-serving employee of this Club. He has shown loyalty over almost 21 years and he has seen some tough times, but he has always put the Club first,” LoGiudice said.

Members then voted in favour of changing Carlton’s constitution to reduce the number of Directors on the Board from 13 to 10. Meanwhile Zac Fried, Adrian Gleeson and Jeanne Pratt were re-elected to the Board unopposed.

The President acknowledged Carlton’s $1.6 million dollar statutory loss, but said he expects the AFL’s fan-friendly fixture and extra home game at the MCG will help deliver a better financial result in 2015.

The Blues inducted one new Life Member with the honour being awarded to lifelong Carlton supporter Greg Lee. Mr Lee, who was elected to Carlton’s Board in March 2006, has been a Carlton member since the age of five. Over the journey has been a corporate sponsor, player sponsor, coterie group member, and his family has hosted players.

In accepting his Life Membership, Mr Lee praised the Club’s new leadership team.

“I don’t think the Club has ever been in better shape off the field than it is now – we genuinely have the opportunity, under new leadership, to move to outstanding,” Mr Lee said.

“Under Mark’s (LoGiudice’s) leadership, we now have a united Board that demands nothing but excellence from every area of this Club.

“Every single element of the Club has to be the best in the league, meticulously and methodically, and only by doing this will we be elite and challenge for number 17.”
