It's been nearly a year since the Carlton Football Club embarked on one of its toughest pre-season training camps.

The altitude training camp in Flagstaff, Arizona consisted of hikes through the Grand Canyon as well as up Humphrey's Peak - it's a wonder that anyone would want to follow suit!

However a small corporate group from the Essendon Hyundai dealership were up for the challenge.

The group of four committed to five months of intense training in the lead-up to the camp, taken by Carlton's very own weights coach Steuart Livingston. The group was also joined by Carlton assistant coach John Barker, who led many of the treks.

"We climbed up Mount Humphreys which is 12,633 feet," said Barker.

"We also walked into the (Grand) Canyon and out of the Canyon – which is about 28km.

"We walked along the South Kyabaib Trail, as well as along the Colorado River.

"It was really hard work, but everyone did a fantastic job.

"Overall it was a great team building exercise for everyone involved."
