With less than eleven minutes remaining of the 2014 AFL Trade period, Carlton has secured exciting young forward Liam Jones after finalising a trade with the Western Bulldogs.

The Blues traded their 3rd round draft pick (at the time No.46 overall) in exchange for Jones.

Jones joins former GWS player's Kristian Jaksch and Mark Whiley as new Blues.

The 23-year-old was recruited to the Bulldogs with a second round draft pick in the 2008 National Draft. A 197 cm tall forward, Jones was nominated for the Rising Star Award in 2011 and has played 66 AFL games.

Meanwhile it was a rush to the finish line for ten other clubs who were also negotiating trades.
