OVERVIEW
It wasn’t a great start to the 2014 season for Chris Judd, when scans revealed that he was suffering a form of Achilles tendinitis, which kept him on the sidelines until Carlton’s Round 5 clash with the Western Bulldogs.

Whilst the match saw the Blues seal their first win of the season, it was soured by the Judd succumbing to a hamstring injury in the third quarter.

The two-time Brownlow medalist was then sidelined for an additional six weeks until Round 13’s match against Hawthorn.

On return from injury the 31-year-old reminded the football world of his class, finishing with 26 possessions and six inside 50s.

After much speculation about Judd preparing to hang up his boots for good, there were sighs of relief among Blues fans when he confirmed that he would play on in 2015.

HE SAID IT
“One of the things I’ve really learned at the end of my footy career is just how unimpressive talent is and just how little it has to do with where people end up in their footy careers. You realise what is really impressive are blokes who are obsessively driven to achieve what they want to achieve.”

 - Judd addressing the candidates from Foxtel’s The Recruit ahead of Carlton’s Round 6 clash with West Coast.

THEY SAID IT
“We use the word champion too often, but he is a champion. You never deny a champion coming back and playing great sport, whatever sport he’s involved in.”

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
During Carlton’s 39-point win against the Gold Coast Suns in Round 20, Chris Judd was superb and at his attacking best, bursting through packs to win nine clearances among his 27 touches, also kicking two goals.
