Four Carlton players sustained injuries in Friday night’s loss to Geelong at Etihad Stadium. Brock McLean and David Ellard have been ruled out of this week’s game against Port Adelaide, but Troy Menzel and Dale Thomas remain a chance to play.

Dale Thomas: suffered bone bruising to his left knee and a medial side sprain to his right ankle. Scans have cleared him of any structural damage.

Although this medial sprain is on the same ankle that Thomas previously had operated, it is important to note that it has not damaged the lateral side injury that Thomas suffered in 2012/13.

Troy Menzel: suffered an AC joint sprain to his left shoulder, which is a reoccurrence of the injury sustained in Round 18.

Scans cleared Menzel of any structural damage and he will be a test this week.

Brock McLean: a late withdrawal from Friday night’s game after experiencing tightness in his right calf during the warm up.

Scans have confirmed he has suffered a minor strain and he will miss this week.

David Ellard: will miss the last two games of the season with a severe strain to his right ankle.

Scans immediately after the game cleared Ellard of any bone damage, however they have revealed a severe strain.

Ellard will wear a moon boot for 2-3 weeks before beginning rehab.
