With on-ballers Tom Bell, Ed Curnow and Chris Judd the major casualties of Sunday’s meritorious 28-point victory over the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium, a minimum three changes are required for the Carlton team confronting West Coast at the same venue.

And with the Northern Blues registering their third win in as many weeks, there’ll be no shortage of potential candidates.

Midfielders in the mix for a recall are Brock McLean (for what would be his 50th Carlton senior appearance), Nick Graham and Jaryd Cachia. McLean racked up 24 disposals and 11 clearances in Northern’s 25-point victory over Footscray at the Whitten Oval, and has featured in the team’s top two best players in as many weeks; while Nick Graham accumulated 25 disposals and bagged two goals in the process.

Cachia, meanwhile, could adequately deliver the “run with” role now that Curnow is unavailable.

Other players in contention include Michael Jamison (if fit) and/or Matthew Watson to counter the Eagles’ talls up front,  most notably Josh Kennedy, Jack Darling and the resting ruckman Dean Cox or Nic Natanui.

Dylan Buckley, a late omission for the Bulldogs match, is also thereabouts.
