ANOTHER week, another undefeated opposition.

Carlton will face another litmus test when it heads to the MCG to take on Geelong in another high-quality, high-stakes game of football.

On the back of ending one unbeaten run last weekend with a triumph against GWS, the Blues will be looking for a repeat against the Cats in a game with heavyweight battles all over the park.

It’s hard to know where to start when the two sides meet for the first time since Round 2 of last season.

Both teams have been very strong both in the contest and going forward in 2024, with Geelong the No.1 tackling side in the competition (overtaking Carlton last week) while the Blues rank No.1 for contested possessions.

And with both sides averaging just shy of 100 points per game so far this season, it’s no surprise that all eyes will be on the main drawcords in attack.

With two in-form, left-footed forwards leading the charge, it’s no surprise that Harry McKay and Jeremy Cameron will be crucial in the fortunes of their respective sides on Saturday.

Cameron’s form not only in front of goal but higher up the ground (averaging 18 disposals per game) has been eye-catching, while nobody has taken more contested marks than McKay this season. Both players average at least seven score involvements per game, too.

If that’s not enough, they’ve got their fellow Coleman Medallists in attack with them, with Charlie Curnow flanking McKay and Tom Hawkins next to Cameron. Collectively, they’ve shared the last five Coleman Medals.

Of course, it’s not only going to be about the big boys up forward. The midfield battle will be pivotal in forward momentum being generated, and nobody has lived that better than Sam Walsh in the last fortnight.

Priced at $911,000 in AFL Fantasy, Walsh has averaged 123 in his opening two games of the season, and returns to a happy hunting ground. In his last five games at the MCG, Walsh has averaged just shy of 99 points.
